Syngenta’s Atexzo insecticide/miticide approved for use in New York

Syngenta‘s Atexzo insecticide/miticide is now registered for use throughout New York, including Long Island, providing golf course superintendents in the state with a new tool to manage annual bluegrass weevils (ABW) and other challenging turf insects.
Atexzo uses plinazolin technology (IRAC Group 30) to deliver a new chemical class of insecticid and miticide for golf courses, sod farms and athletic turf.
Atexzo works through contact and ingestion to control adults and all larval/nymphal stages of key turf insects, including ABW, billbugs, European crane flies, turf caterpillars, mole crickets and more. For superintendents, this means Atexzo can control multiple life stages while adding a new mode of action to insect management programs.
That combination is particularly valuable for managing ABW, one of the most persistent and difficult-to-control insect pests in the Northeast.
“With Atexzo, superintendents now have access to a completely new mode of action that helps strengthen resistance management programs while delivering exceptional performance,” said Lisa Beirn, Ph.D., technical services manager for turf in the Northeast at Syngenta. “The ability to control both adult and larval stages gives superintendents greater flexibility as they develop effective, season-long ABW management programs.”
Superintendents can save on Atexzo through the GreenTrust 365 Early Order Period (Oct. 1-Dec. 8, 2026). Savings opportunities include the new Atexzo + Ference insecticide Multipak, as well as three new Pallet Solutions:
- ABW Plus Solution
- ABW Xtra Solution
- Wall2Wall Insect Solution
Atexzo also enhances the WeevilTrak Plus program, helping simplify ABW management while providing increased control of larvae and adults.
