GolfNow facilitates record rounds on July 4 as platform growth continues

GolfNow, the online tee-time marketplace operated by NBC Sports Next, facilitated more than 152,000 golf rounds on July 4, 2025, reflecting a near 13% increase over 2024’s tally and establishing a new company benchmark. Over the full Independence Day weekend, the platform handled 630,000 rounds, up 4% year-over-year — a statistic that aligns with a broader surge in U.S. golf participation that began in 2020 and persists as a defining industry trend.

As golf participation broadens, GolfNow’s footprint has rapidly expanded. The number of golf courses partnering with GolfNow’s platform has increased during five months out of the first six in 2025. Notably, GolfNow has introduced features such as tee-time alerts and pre-order options for pro-shop merchandise, tools intended to maximize course inventory and improve the customer booking experience.

Golf course operators benefit from these innovations, which address increased demand and operational efficiency, while offering new commercial opportunities. Competitors in the golf booking technology space are now tasked with keeping pace amid growing market expectations.

Golf’s momentum shows little sign of slowing, driven by both on-course and off-course growth. As digital platforms like GolfNow continue to adapt with new technology offerings, the industry is likely to see even greater integration between facilities and booking services.
