Wiedenmann North America, a global manufacture of maintenance equipment for golf courses and sports fields, recently introduced Terra Core, a line of shallow aerifiers available in two sizes. The machines are made in the U.S., and equipment is ready to ship around the country.

The Terra Core 6 is intended for use on greens, tees and sports fields. Its compact design (58 inches wide) follows greens undulations, and it features six aerification arms and heads and may be deployed using a small tractor.

The Terra Core 8 is intended for use on fairways, tees and sports fields. Its wider working width (78 inches) covers larger areas in a relatively shorter period of time. It features eight aerification arms and heads.

Key features of the Terra Core shallow aerification system include:

  • Shallow aerifier: Depths down to four inches.
  • Adjustability: Easily modifies to fit ground conditions. Adjusts in 1/64-inch increments.
  • Straight hole pattern: Clean, round holes allow for easier and more convenient filling.
  • Productivity and cost: Fast and competitively priced, according to the company.
  • Flexibility: Works with multiple sizes of coring tines and solid tines

Wiedenmann stated the introduction of the Terra Core line of shallow aerifiers expands the tools available to grow healthier, stronger playing surfaces for golfers and athletes in nearly any sport.

“Terra Core is recommended for most every aerification situation for courses or fields with satisfactory soils. Some troubled soils may require aerification at a deeper depth,” said Will Wolverton, president of Wiedenmann North America. “Terra Core holes are deployed in a straight pattern and are round in shape, which allows the sand to drop into the hole for a more effective, cleaner aerification.”
