The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced that several of golf’s most historic venues are set to welcome Curtis Cup and Walker Cup Matches. National Golf Links of America will host the 2040 Walker Cup, Cypress Point Club will host the 2042 Curtis Cup and 2048 Walker Cup and Seminole Golf Club will host the 2046 Curtis Cup and 2052 Walker Cup.

National Golf Links of America, in Southampton, N.Y., which opened in 1909, was designed by renowned golf course architect C.B. Macdonald, who guided the course’s development over its first 30 years. Macdonald’s tenure included the inaugural Walker Cup Match in 1922. National Golf Links of America was the home club of George Herbert Walker, USGA president in 1920 when the event was conceived, and the man who donated the trophy.

Cypress Point Club, in Pebble Beach, Calif., most recently hosted the 50th Walker Cup last September, in which the USA dominated Sunday singles, going 8-1-1 en route to a 17-9 victory. The course was designed by Alister MacKenzie in collaboration with Robert Hunter and opened for play in 1929.

Seminole Golf Club, in Juno Beach, Fla., hosted the 46th Walker Cup in 2021, in which the USA narrowly defeated GB&I, 14-12, to win its third consecutive Match. The course was designed by Donald Ross and opened for play in 1929. The course’s routing encompasses two dune ridges, one that peaks to the west and another along the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Members have included U.S. presidents, business and industry leaders and golf elites.

The Curtis Cup and Walker Cup represent the very best of amateur golf, and these host sites emphasize our commitment to honoring the game’s history while inspiring its future,” said John Bodenhamer, USGA chief championships officer. “These iconic venues will provide truly exceptional stages, and we’re proud to partner with them in the years ahead.”
