United Turf Alliance offers its first biorational plant protection product

United Turf Alliance (UTA) has released ArmorTech Sonnet biological fungicide, its first biorational plant protection product. Sold as a wettable powder, Sonnet contains a bacteria that produces lipopeptides able to curtail existing plant infections and create a protective barrier on plant surfaces.

According to UTA, when Sonnet is tank-mixed with traditional fungicides, it “enhances control by inflicting damage on disease cell membranes.” The company also states that Sonnet provides preventive control of critical turfgrass diseases such as anthracnose, brown patch, dollar spot and gray leaf spot, and is labeled for disease protection on ornamental plantings such as annuals, perennials and trees.
