The Toro Company announced the release of Spatial Adjust, a software tool that provides streamlined, precision irrigation control for golf courses. Now available for order, this irrigation software was developed through an exclusive partnership with TerraRad and integrates exclusively with the Toro Lynx Central Control platform.

Spatial Adjust eliminates the need for manual labor in moisture monitoring and sprinkler adjustments. The software uses turfRad smart sensors, which are installed on Toro equipment to map soil moisture levels in real time as the turf is being mowed. This real-time data is captured by Spatial Adjust and transmitted to the Toro Lynx Central Control platform.

The Spatial Adjust software analyzes the data, creating color-coded maps that highlight moisture variations across the course and providing individual sprinkler adjustment recommendations that can be applied with the click of a button. Superintendents can set and customize specific moisture level targets and maintain full control with the flexibility to override the system as desired. By streamlining the process, Spatial Adjust helps create consistent, uniform fairway playing conditions and optimizes water usage while ensuring control stays firmly in the superintendent’s hands.

“The efficiency is incredible,” says Steve Datwyler, director of grounds, Ravenna Country Club, Littleton, Colo. “I started using Spatial Adjust on one hole and have now expanded to all 18. I’m using less water on them than before. I ran a projected flow and after pushing the updates, it was 90,000 gallons less. One of my long-time employees even commented this morning that he’s never seen the moisture so consistent across the fairway. It’s normally dry in one area or there’s a spot where water flies up from the tires, but now it’s consistent and uniform.”
