Shaun Finley Joins Watertown Country Club as New Club Pro and GM
Shaun Finley has taken over as general manager and golf pro at Watertown Country Club in Watertown, Wis. He was hired to replace Gene Frank, who retired in October after serving 18 years as pro over two different periods. Finley also replaces former GM Mike Upthegrove, who wanted to focus more on his job of golf course superintendent at the club.
Prior to his new position, Finley, who grew up in Watertown, worked as the golf pro at The Oaks in Cottage Grove for seven years and served as director of golf there last year. He was a standout golfer in high school — a two-time conference medalist and state qualifier — and worked in the bag room at Watertown while a student.
In his role as general manager, Finley oversees both the house and golf course. He also is tasked with marketing and increasing the club’s membership.
