Rain Bird Sponsors International Water Forum at the United Nations
To promote responsible water use across the globe, Rain Bird Corporation last Friday sponsored and participated in the International Water Forum at the United Nations.
The forum, which coincided with the opening of the 66th United Nations General Assembly, featured presentations and panel discussions about the importance of water conservation at home and abroad.
“Our participation in the International Water Forum fits well with our commitment to water conservation and the Intelligent Use of Water,” said Rain Bird Director of Corporate Marketing Dave Johnson in a press release. “This forum is a huge step toward developing a coordinated effort to raise public awareness and spur meaningful action around the globe…”
Patricia Mulroy, general manager of the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA), was the keynote speaker. Leaders from reputable water conservation organizations also spoke at the forum, including Ben Grumbles, president of the Clean Water America Alliance; Mary Ann Dickinson, president and chief executive officer of the Alliance for Water Efficiency; and Christopher Rochfort, chief executive officer of Star Water Solutions, Australia.
Famed water conservation activist and actress Jane Seymour did her part by presenting a short film about the world’s water crisis, while Charles Fishman, author of “The Big Thirst: The Secret Life and Turbulent Future of Water”, gave a special address.
