Philly fanatic

I’m in Philadelphia for a few days, a couple meetings, interviews, etc.

The trip has gone great so far. It occurred to me today that most of my success in getting good stories for the magazine can be attributed to how cool and accommodating my sources are. That was definitely the case today. I have the start of a great story, and the reason is because a big time player in our industry took the time out of his schedule to sit down with me and just talk.

Speaking of interviews, for once the shoe was on the other foot for me today, as my cell phone rang and it was a journalist seeking an interview with me. He was doing a story on Schuylkill CC’s Jim Rattigan, who won our 2014 Herb Graffis Businessperson of the Year award.

The bad thing for me was his call woke me up from a deep sleep… So I may have been a little out of it. Hopefully I was able to give him decent quotes! So that’s what it feels like to be caught off-guard for an interview…
