Musser Turf Foundation Launches Website

By |  October 12, 2011

To publicize its mission and attract attention to its graduate student award program, the Musser International Turfgrass Foundation has launched a website. Sharon Golf Club course superintendent and general manager Frank Dobie, president of the Musser Foundation Board, said the site will make it easier for turf doctoral candidates and others in the industry to learn about Musser and how to apply for its Musser Award of Excellence.

“We’re pleased that we’re now able to effectively spread the word about the foundation to more potential applicants, supporters and those with an interest in the history of turfgrass research,” said Dobie.

The site, www.musserfoundation.org, features a list of Musser Award recipients dating back to 1989.

To expand its Web presence further, Musser recently created a Facebook page and Twitter account as well. Named in memory of turfgrass scientist H. Burton Musser, the Musser Foundation acknowledges and rewards individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the doctoral phase of their turfgrass science education and research.
