I’m not sure how many Golfdom readers saw this, so I wanted to point it out over here…

Our sister publication, Athletic Turf News, did a profile on Luke Yoder, director of grounds for the San Diego Padres. Attendees of the 2013 GIS might recognize Yoder, as he was the one giving the tour of Petco Park during John Deere’s VIP event.

I caught up with Yoder over the phone recently and he gave me a great interview. We talked about the challenges at his ball field, his roots in golf, and advice to young turf pros.

Seth Jones, a 25-year veteran of the golf industry media, is Editor-in-Chief of Golfdom magazine and Athletic Turf.
