Locust Hill Country Club Gets Audubon Certification

By |  March 16, 2012

Locust Hill Country Club’s golf course has been certified in environmental planning by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP). The ACSP is a program administered by Audubon International designed to help landowners preserve and enhance the environmental quality of their property. The plan was designed by Locust Hill golf course superintendent Rick Slattery.

“The open space of a golf course is utilized not only by golfers, but is habitat for a variety of wildlife species,” Audubon International ecologist Jim Sluiter said. “We welcome Locust Hill Country Club’s commitment to the environment and to managing the golf course with wildlife in mind.”

As a participant in the ACSP, Locust Hill Country Club’s environmental involvement could revolve around bird protection, pest management, water conservation and wildlife protection.
