Casey Anderson of City Park Nine Golf Course in Fort Collins, Colo. and Jeremy Lewis of Kingwood Country Club in Texas, have received the 2025 Grassroots Ambassador Leadership Award from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA)

The Grassroots Ambassador Leadership Award is presented to individuals who advance the GCSAA Priority Issues Agenda by engaging with members of Congress. Initiated in partnership with The Toro Company, the award includes a trip to National Golf Day in Washington, D.C., an event where the industry voices concerns over labor, environment and regulatory challenges. This year’s National Golf Day drew over 250 participants representing every segment of the $102 billion golf industry, which supports roughly two million U.S. jobs.

Anderson, a seven-year GCSAA member, has built his career in public golf after growing up and working on local courses in Colorado. Since returning to Fort Collins, he has joined the Grassroots Ambassador program, where he now interacts with Rep. Joe Neguse’s office, focusing on the positive impact of municipal golf on local communities through advocacy and direct site visits. Anderson and his team have underscored the role municipals play in community recreation and local economies, aligned with studies showing such courses bolster tourism, youth engagement and fiscal vitality.

Lewis, with 17 years in GCSAA, has been with Kingwood since 2016 and now collaborates with Rep. Dan Crenshaw. Lewis has prioritized environmental stewardship, advocating for Texas to lead with best management practices for water conservation and sustainability. He sees participation in the ambassador program as a way to ensure legislators grasp the environmental and economic realities of golf in his state.
