FieldTurf, West Salem High School make turf history

WEST SALEM, OR — Turf can define your football team.  Ask Boise State what they think of their “Blue Turf.”  It’s famous across the nation, and now West Salem High School looks to join their ranks following the installation at their school’s home stadium. Given the nickname “The Black Hole” prior to the installation, school officials are excited about the buzz created in the community, and a fresh start given to West Salem High School as they look to impose themselves in the football ranks.

“I think it’s cool that we have a field that’s uniquely different,” says West Salem football coach Shawn Stanley. “The goal was not to have something nice or have something different, but to have something that is safe for our team and safe for our opponents and the community. For me, the best part is I don’t have to worry about the kids getting hurt falling on the field.”

FieldTurf’s patented system is scientifically proven to reduce injury and improve on-field play.  Its innovative fiber technology along with its infill mix of cryogenic rubber and silica sand makes the product one of a kind and a leader in the industry.

West Salem High Schools joins an impressive list of NFL, college, and high school teams to play on FieldTurf.  Within the high school ranks, this list includes powerhouse Don Bosco Preparatory high school in New Jersey, and Detroit Country Day School in Michigan, which has a FieldTurf Revolution surface installed and has had FieldTurf on campus for the past decade.
