DuPont Partners with Audubon’s Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses
DuPont Professional Products recently announced a new sponsorship with the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP). With over 100 of its herbicide and insecticide customers currently registered with the Audubon program, DuPont wants to make it even easier for golf courses to benefit from the program. The company therefore will cover half of the program membership fees for up to 50 additional courses in 2011.
When golf courses join the ACSP, they collaborate with Audubon to develop an environmental management plan and document results in environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation, water quality management, and outreach and education.
“This program is very popular with our customers, who are loyal users of our products that deliver a high level of control against key insect pests and weeds with a low level of risk to harm non-target organisms,” said Nancy Schwartz, marketing manager for turf and ornamentals, in a press release. “We want to encourage more customers to join the ACSP and benefit in ways that improve both their environmental impact and their bottom-line.”
DuPont publicly established environmental goals 20 years ago. Since then, the company has expanded its sustainability commitments. Operating in nearly 100 countries, DuPont offers products and services for markets including agriculture and food; building and construction; communications; and transportation.
