The Jack Nicklaus signature course, Desert Highlands in Scottsdale, Ariz., is set for an extensive renovation project. Desert Highlands is the home of the Skins Game when Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Gary Player played the event in a television special on Thanksgiving week, 1983.

Led by Nicklaus Design, the golf course restoration project consists of:

  • Green, tee and bunker reconstruction
  • Desert de- and re-vegetation
  • Turf restoration
  • Putting course renovation
  • Design re-enhancement on several holes

The $10 million restoration project began on April 28 and has shut down the golf course. The conclusion of the restoration project and the re-opening of the golf course is set to occur this upcoming November.
