Colorado Golf Course Gets Name Change

By |  December 20, 2011

Fort Morgan Municipal Golf Course in Fort Morgan, Colo., has officially changed its name to Quail Dunes at Fort Morgan. The new name was selected by the city’s golf course board at its meeting Dec. 6.

Fort Morgan renamed the course to generate for it more name recognition and make it more attractive to both local residents and out-of-towners. Locals feel that the new name gives the 18-hole course more esteem. The name is apt, they say, because the course, overlooking the South Platte River, is built on sand.

A new “Quail Dunes at Fort Morgan” emblem will emblazon scorecards, merchandise and other course-related items, and Fort Morgan plans to become more aggressive in promoting itself online.
