Can I get your autograph?

Rickie Fowler wasn’t the only person asked for his autograph today… Photo: Seth Jones
I had a great interview today with Bill Coore out on the practice green. It’s a video interview, and the best one I’ve nabbed from Pinehurst so far (for example, you can tell I’m a little overcaffeinated in the Hartwiger video). We’ll get it out ASAP, but we have a few others in the queue that have to get out first…
In the meantime, a fun story from today. After my interview with Coore wrapped up, he asked me about the story that ran in the new Golfdom on Kevin Robinson and the team out here at Pinehurst. I told him it turned out fine and that we ran a photo of Kevin in a pink golf shirt on our cover.
Coore got excited. “Can you get me a copy?” he asked. “I want to ask him to autograph it for me!”
I laughed and told him it’d be my pleasure. So at his press conference with Ben Crenshaw today, I handed him a copy.
Guess who was in the room at the same time? Robinson.
Coore walked over to him and asked him for his signature. Kevin laughed. Coore asked again. This time Robinson obliged.
Fun moment from the 2014 US Open.
