By |  January 17, 2012

Billy Casper Golf (BCG), which owns and operates more than 130 golf courses, country clubs and resorts, has launched an agronomy internship program designed to identify and educate future leaders in turfgrass management.

The internship program was developed with the help of BCG superintendents, according to a Billy Casper Golf press release. To be eligible for an internship, applicants must be enrolled in an accredited turfgrass management or agronomy degree program and aspire to work in golf course maintenance. Positions will be offered at select BCG-managed courses nationwide for the 2012 golf season. Interns will complete tasks in 21 key areas of competency, including scientific aspects, leadership, management, communications and more.

“Billy Casper Golf will teach interns the business side of golf-course maintenance to augment the foundation of their university studies,” said Bryan Bielecki, Vice President of Agronomy of BCG in a press release. “They will benefit from hands-on environments and training under many of the industry’s most talented superintendents.”

The deadline to apply is March 1, 2012. For more information and to download an application visit www.billycaspergolf.com/agronomyinternship.
