A bet’s a bet

Congrats go out to Karey Constant, staff accountant at North Coast Media.IMG_1050

Karey (pictured) is the sweetest lady you could ever work with. I only get to the Cleveland office a few times a year, but when I do, I’ve come to expect a boisterous welcome from Karey. Because Karey loves to TALK. And she has a voice that carries over cubicle walls. In other words: Karey is a character.

So NCM VP of finance and operations Steve Galperin made a bet with Karey recently. He bet her she couldn’t make it a week at work without talking. Everyone laughed because Karey HAS to talk, right?

The stakes were high… if Karey could go a week with the mute button on (of course she could still do her job — take phone calls, etc.) then Steve would have to cater a fancy (no burgers or fries!) lunch for the entire finance group. If she lost? She would have to add selling copies of Truman’s Scientific Guide to Pest Management Operations to her already full plate at work.

Unbelievably, Karey’s voice went silent for a week. The finance group? They’re currently looking at take-out menus from downtown Cleveland restaurants. Steve, it’s time to pay up. Remember, no burgers, no subs… I’m thinking something Italian will be called in soon.
