CityGolf USA teams up with Fazio Design for US indoor golf breakthrough

CityGolf USA, a full 18-hole indoor golf course operator, partnered with Fazio Design Technologies (FDT), under which Fazio-designed digital courses will be available for play exclusively at CityGolf USA locations. The partnership will begin with eight new 18-hole courses designed specifically for CityGolf USA, beginning with its 174,000-square-foot flagship location in Nashville, Tenn., set to open in winter 2026.
The course designs will draw inspiration from around the world. The courses will integrate real-world golf strategy and playability with digital and live shot making. With CityGolf USA rounds taking approximately two and a half hours, FDT designs will strategically take a player from the teeing ground to the landing area within a simulator experience.
Once a player’s ball is within the green complex, the Golfzon simulator screen will be raised to reveal a custom-built unique physical undulating green complex with chipping areas and steep-faced bunkers. All 18 greens, plus a practice putting and chipping area, will be built to exacting standards with the leading synthetic turf on the market, so the short game looks and plays like an outdoor golf course.
“A great golf course is always accompanied by a great environment,” said Tom Fazio, golf course architect. “FDT and CityGolf USA are committed to providing a one-of-a-kind environment and entertainment venue that is unmatched. The ability to design and create unique golf courses for CityGolf USA has been seamless, and we look forward to people all over the United States having the opportunity to play them.”
“It is exciting to be part of the CityGolf USA project, which is bringing a completely new and innovative golf concept to the United States,” said Gavin Fazio, founder of FDT and president of Fazio Design. “We are looking forward to introducing a concept that will appeal to everyone — from passionate golf enthusiasts and social players to beginners who are just discovering the game. Creating new and unique digital golf environments that would traditionally require a much bigger footprint expands what is possible in the world of golf.
“Our partnership with CityGolf USA reflects our commitment to working with the very best in their respective fields,” he added. “Combining Golfzon’s leading technology with extensively tested turf and installation methods allows us to create an experience that is as realistic and authentic as possible. Together, we believe this will deliver an unmatched golf experience unlike anything else in the world.”
CityGolf USA is evolving the CityGolf model already operating in Asia that will resonate with guests. It begins with adding an entire entertainment and social-forward experience, including elevated hospitality that masters the art of noticing. according to the company. Guests will enjoy amenities unique to CityGolf USA, including a chef-driven restaurant and bar, modern private event spaces, driving-range bays for corporate and social gatherings and on-site PGA-certified professionals offering lessons, club fittings, leagues and player development programs. During their round, guests will also be accompanied by Player Hosts, who will serve as both a caddie and concierge.
“At CityGolf USA, we are creating the next frontier of indoor golf in America. We are excited to take an already proven concept in Asia and put our own unique spin on how it shows up in the states,” says Tony Graffia Jr., CEO of CityGolf USA and managing partner of Nessie Capital. “Having a partnership with Fazio Design Technologies allows us to continue to elevate the CityGolf format and bring an entirely new category of golf to the U.S. market.”
Unlike the ultra-private model in Asia, CityGolf USA locations will operate on a semi-private model, offering public tee times along with a small selection of early access Founding Memberships with a small initiation fee and dues. Following the launch of the Nashville location, CityGolf USA will open additional locations across the country.
