Bernhard and Co., Pacific Golf and Turf expand Soil Scout distribution in Pacific Northwest and Hawaii

Bernhard and Co. is expanding its distribution partnership with Pacific Golf and Turf, enabling the supplier to distribute Soil Scout’s wireless underground soil monitoring technology across Washington, Oregon and Hawaii.
Pacific Golf and Turf serves as Bernhard and Co.’s equipment distributor across multiple regions and will now widen its role by introducing Soil Scout sensors to its offering for golf facilities throughout each territory. The move strengthens the long-standing partnership between the two companies while expanding access to advanced turf management technology designed to help golf course operators monitor soil conditions and optimize irrigation, turf health and maintenance practices.
Soil Scout’s underground sensors measure key soil metrics including moisture, temperature and salinity, delivering real-time insights that support more informed decision making and more efficient resource use. The system has recently been enlarged with the introduction of the Happi100, the first wireless underground sensor capable of measuring soil oxygen alongside moisture and temperature. Installed below the surface, the sensors transmit data wirelessly to a cloud-based platform, offering superintendents the ability to monitor conditions remotely without disrupting play while gaining deeper insight into the factors that influence turf health.
“Golf course teams are continually looking for smarter ways to operate as expectations around course conditioning, efficiency and sustainability continue to evolve. Access to reliable data is becoming an increasingly important part of that process. Expanding our partnership with Pacific Golf and Turf allows us to bring Soil Scout technology to more facilities across the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii through a trusted regional partner that understands the needs of local golf courses,” said Daryl Nagy, Bernhard and Co.’s sales manager for North America.
Headquartered in Portland, Ore., Pacific Golf and Turf has long supplied golf courses throughout the region with turf maintenance equipment and support services. By adding Soil Scout technology to its portfolio, the company will strengthen the support it provides to superintendents, providing additional tools to help monitor course conditions and make more informed irrigation and turf management decisions.
“Superintendents are under increasing pressure to deliver consistent playing conditions while managing resources responsibly, and access to accurate soil data can play an important role in that process. We are pleased to be able to bring Soil Scout technology to golf facilities across our territory as part of our continued partnership with Bernhard and Co.,” said a spokesperson for Pacific Golf and Turf.
The expanded partnership reflects the growing role of technology and data within modern turf management, with more golf facilities adopting advanced monitoring tools to improve course conditioning, resource efficiency and long-term turf performance.
