Heritage Landscape Supply announced that it has acquired Big Earth Landscape Supply, a distributor of bulk aggregates and mulch, sod, hardscapes and other landscape materials.

Headquartered in Bradenton, Fla., and owned by Al Rickert and Raymond Warner, Big Earth operates five locations across central Florida. The Company employs a team of more than 50 people. Al and Raymond will retire at closing, while Adam Rickert, Al’s son, will continue to lead Big Earth’s dedicated team, ensuring continuity and consistency for customers, suppliers and employees.

Chris McMurrough, president of Heritage Landscape, said, “We are thrilled to welcome the Big Earth team into the Heritage family. Al, Raymond, and their entire organization have built an exceptional business over the last several decades and have set the standard for bulk landscape materials distribution in the Tampa and Sarasota markets. We are excited to partner together to expand our product offering in Central Florida and better serve our shared customers.”

Al Rickert and Raymond Warner, owners of the Company, commented, “From our initial discussions with Heritage, we knew they were the right home for our business and our people. Heritage shares our core values of taking care of our customers and treating our people right, the guiding principles which enabled us to achieve success in this industry. We look forward to this next chapter in the Big Earth story and cannot wait to see what we can accomplish with our combined efforts.”
