Musser Foundation offers scholarship for master’s degree candidates

The Musser Foundation is offering further assistance to graduate students in turfgrass related studies. The amount of the cash awarded will be determined by the Musser Foundation board of directors, and the current year’s announcement will be posted on the Musser Foundation’s website this month.

Qualifications for application are:

  • A minimum grade point average of 3.4 for the last two years of undergraduate study.
  • Currently enrolled in a Master of Science program or received Master of Science degree in the current calendar year.
  • Research objectives relevant to turfgrass science and management

The candidate shall be pursuing a course of study and thesis research problem in the area of turfgrass science that may encompass breeding and genetics, plant physiology, ecology and culture, oil science, pest management (including weeds), diseases and insects, environmental science, economics and/or sociology.

Instructions for application:

The application deadline is Dec. 1, and the application is only available electronically by emailing Mark Jordan at threeputtmark@gmail.com. It will be sent as an attached Microsoft Word file.

Transcripts of the Bachelor of Science and first year of the Master of Science are required.

Applicants will also need three letters of support; these letters can come from professors, past employers and other close associates. These letters may be sent via email in a PDF file.

Applicants will be notified of the results no later than March 1.
