The Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association Presents Golf Course Superintendent Joel Christensen with the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award

On Monday, October 18, 2010 the Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association held its Stars of the Industry Luncheon at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  This annual event is a way to recognize outstanding members within the industry.  The prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Joel Christensen, Golf Course Superintendent at the Inverness Hotel & Conference Center.

“Joel Christensen received our 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award for his long tenure and contributions at the Inverness Hotel & Conference Center, Englewood” Said Stephanie Van Cleve, Director of Communications & Member Services of the CHLA.

In more than twenty-five years of exemplary service and major contributions at the Inverness Hotel and Conference Center Golf Course, Joel achieved the coveted honor of becoming a Class A member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.  He was named Manager of the year at The Inverness Hotel and Conference Center in 2008.  He serves admirably as the Vice President of the Colorado Turfgrass Foundation.  He is also a board member of the Inverness Water and Sanitation District and the Inverness Metropolitan Improvement District and holds a membership position on the Inverness Hotel Safety Committee.  Additionally, Joel was a past recipient of the CHLA Outstanding Employee Award in 2003.
