Survey: Voluntary Environmental Programs, yea or nay?

Friends of Golfdom assemble! We have a request that will benefit a worthy cause and give you a chance at winning $100.

The folks at Audubon International are teaming up with Kevin A. Fletcher, Ph.D., CEO of ePar USA and founder of Greener Futures Consulting LLC, to sponsor a survey to find out why or why not golf courses decide to participate in Voluntary Environmental Programs (VEPs). This survey is completely confidential and those who complete it will be entered into a sweepstakes to win one of three $100 Visa gift cards.

VEPs, like the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, GEO’s OnCourse program and e-par’s EMS for Golf, are most-often geared to help superintendents maintain their golf courses more sustainably and support credible ways to monitor and measure results.

This 24-question survey asks golf professionals’ (They are encouraging everyone to enter! Superintendents, assistants, managers and owners) motivations, incentives and barriers associated with participating in VEPs. Even if your course doesn’t partake in a VEP Audubon International still wants to hear from you. (Actually if you don’t follow a VEP you might have more incentive because you only have to answer eight questions.)

With the results provided by you, Audubon International and Fletcher are going to develop, distribute and analyze the data, and then share the results with survey participants, VEP program staff, golf associations and golf-based media.

“Answering these questions will help all VEP developers/managers better serve the golf industry while also continuing to drive overall improvement,” Fletcher wrote in an email to Golfdom.
