Troon celebrates Troon Women’s Golf Month with activities, events across its properties

Troon will celebrate “Troon Women’s Golf Month” throughout the month of June at hundreds of Troon-managed facilities around the world. Troon’s Women’s Golf Month is held in conjunction with International Women’s Golf Day on Tuesday, June 5.

Now in its fourth year, the goal of Troon Women’s Golf Month is to introduce more golfers to the game.

Examples of Troon Women’s Golf Month programming around the globe include:

Abu Dhabi Golf Club – Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
On June 5, ladies enjoy an all-inclusive golf experience for only AED100, which includes a welcome breakfast with PGA professionals, a golf check-up clinic with PGA professionals, a 9-hole tournament and prize presentation buffet.

Buenaventura Golf Club – Coclé, Panama
On June 5, join the team at Buenaventura for Women’s Golf Day. The itinerary includes a group golf class, a 9-hole scramble and a fashion show. The cost is $60 for members and $80 for non-members.

Colonial Country Club – Fort Myers, Fla.
On Saturday, June 9, enjoy a putting clinic covering distance control, green reading, putting stroke setup and technique. This ladies golf clinic is from 9:30–10:30 a.m. and includes complimentary mimosas and muffins.

Highland Park Golf Course – Birmingham, Ala.
On June 14 and 28, enjoy “Sip & Swing,” an evening of golf and beverages. The events include a one-hour lesson with a PGA professional, two drinks and costs $39 per person. In addition, Highland Park will host Women’s Golf Clinics every Friday morning during the month of June, as well as on Tuesday, June 5, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Each Women’s Golf Clinic is $30 and will help improve skills while promoting a fuller understanding of the game.

Kapalua Golf – Maui, Hawaii
Play in the Kapalua Women’s Golf Month Invitational on Saturday, June 2, on Kapalua Golf’s Bay Course. Open to all golfers and levels of play, the event will begin with warm-up tips by Kapalua PGA professionals and conclude with complimentary post tournament pupus at the Pineapple Grill (no host bar).

Old Works – Anaconda, Mont.
LPGA Teaching Professional Lori Savoy will host Ladies Clinics every Tuesday starting June 12 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m for $10 per person.

The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort & Spa – Savannah, Ga.
Enjoy a one hour complimentary Women’s Golf Clinic beginning at 10:30 am every Saturday in June.

Whirlwind Golf Club – Chandler, Ariz.
Every Saturday during the month of June, Whirlwind Golf Club will host “Saturday Par-Tee Ladies Clinics” from 9 to 10 a.m. The cost is $30 per guest and includes instruction, use of Callaway golf club rentals and one Bloody Mary.

During the month of June (and throughout the year), Troon facilities will continue to offer new “Get Into Golf” clinics. The Get Into Golf program provides all the tools necessary to give golf a test run, including golf clubs and golf balls, practice range time, a weekly introduction to golf clinic and ending with a three-hole test run – so participants can get a taste of what it’s like to be on a golf course in a friendly, fun and non-competitive atmosphere.

“The goal with Women’s Golf Month and all of our ongoing player development and “Play Troon” efforts are to grow the game and showcase how golf is fun, social and inviting,” said Bruce Glasco, executive vice president, chief operating officer, Troon. “In June, many of our Troon facilities and teaching professionals will amplify their efforts with exciting playing opportunities, clinics and golf/social events geared towards women.”

Events in June are geared towards women, but all are welcome to participate.
