Syngenta’s Heritage Action fungicide now available

Syngenta has made available its Heritage Action fungicide. Heritage Action pairs the disease control of Heritage fungicide with a boost of acibenzolar-s-methyl (ASM) for enhanced biotic and abiotic stress management, according to the company.

“Heritage Action builds upon the proven disease protection of Heritage fungicide, which golf course superintendents have trusted for many years,” says Stephanie Schwenke, turf market manager, Turf and Landscape, Syngenta. “With the addition of ASM, Heritage Action boosts the plant’s natural defenses, helping create strong, healthy turf that is prepared to withstand stresses from disease, golfers and Mother Nature.”

Heritage Action stimulates five plant proteins that results in enhanced energy production, drought tolerance, heat tolerance, photosynthesis and pathogen defense, says Syngenta.

The company also says ASM is the only active ingredient registered in turf that is recognized by Fungicide Resistance Action Committee (FRAC) to have SAR effects. SAR effects stimulate the plant’s natural stress defenses for heightened disease protection. It affects stomatal regulation for maximized water retention in heat and drought conditions.

Heritage Action helps defend turf against more than 20 diseases, Syngenta announced in a press release, including anthracnose, Pythium diseases, bacterial wilt suppression and brown patch.

“When Heritage Action and Daconil Action fungicides are used together, there is a noticeable boost in plant performance and disease control,” says Howard Jaekle, fungicide brand manager, Turf and Landscape, Syngenta. “The combination not only improves turf quality and playability, but also maintains excellent turf safety with little threat of injury.”
