| N'awlins or Sin City?
In case you've been living under a ball washer and need to get caught up on news in our industry, a very agitated Club Managers Association of America announced last month it was leaving the Golf Industry Show because it claims the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America pulled a fast one by dumping New Orleans from the 2012 show schedule in favor of Las Vegas. The GCSAA says it made its intentions well-known to the CMAA while considering the move throughout last summer. The CMAA said the GCSAA made the decision in spite of an agreement that it wouldn't do so without consent from the CMAA and the National Golf Course Owners Association, the show's other presenting partner. The CMAA wouldn't concede because it said had contractual commitments that would cost its members more than $300,000 to break them. The GCSAA said it was worth it to bite the bullet financially and go to Vegas because there's an economic upside. The GCSAA also said many of its members and vendors didn't want to go to New Orleans anymore. The GCSAA didn't ask me, though. I'd much rather go to N'awlins, where the good food outweighs any other factor. But that's just me. What can I say, Chef Paul Prodhomme is my hero. You can't get turtle soup like his in Vegas. I'm not a gambler so Sin City doesn't really intrigue me. Vegas is manufactured, except for the beautiful desert weather in February (maybe I can be swayed?). What about you? Where would you rather go? Take our survey below. Just click on the link below. All you have to do is answer one question N'awlins or Sin City?
