John Deere Golf, LebanonTurf Team Up

April 15, 2009 Golfdom Insider

John Deere Golf is partnering with LebanonTurf to provide superintendents with a wider range of agronomic products, including five analyses of LebanonTurf's Country Club line of Greens Grade (SGN 100) fertilizers, with three created specifically for John Deere Golf. There are plans to bring additional LebanonTurf fertilizer products to market through John Deere Golf in the future.

"We're excited about this new partnership because LebanonTurf shares core values with John Deere, including its dedication to advanced technology and high-quality products," said Steve Vincent, North American sales manager for John Deere Golf.

LebanonTurf's Country Club fertilizer line combines traditional high-WIN products with a Composite Technology granulating process. This time-tested formulation results in an advanced line of nitrogen products for golf course superintendents.

"With its multiple distribution channels, staff of agronomic experts, and unmatched customer support, John Deere is a natural fit for LebanonTurf," said Dave Heegard, vice president and general manager of LebanonTurf.

LebanonTurf also announced it has introduced ProScape 19-0-6 with LockUp, a specialty herbicide that provides weed control with minimal irrigation requirements. The granular product provides activity at low use rates — about 0.02 to 0.06 pounds of active ingredient (penoxsulam) per acre — and can be used on wet or dry foliage and on warm- and cool-season turf.

ProScape 19-0-6 with LockUp also includes LebanonTurf's MESA, the first nitrogen source to combine ammonium sulfate with methylene urea in a single particle. LockUp provides post-emergent control of a variety of broadleaf weeds, including white clover, dandelion, kyllinga and English lawn daisy among others.

Mike Sisti, marketing manager for LebanonTurf, said LebanonTurf is one of the first companies to formulate a granular product with LockUp, which was developed by Dow Agrosciences.
