Aqua-Aid, a plant health solutions provider, is partnering with the University of Tennessee Turfgrass for the 2nd annual #PoaDay Field Day Facebook Live event. This event, held each spring, allows the University of Tennessee to showcase its annual statewide research regarding optimal programs for annual bluegrass control on golf courses, sports fields and residential and commercial lawns.

New for this year, viewers will have the ability to earn Golf Course Superintendents Association of America education credits. Viewing the educational event will earn attendees 0.1 CEU credits.

This year, #PoaDay will be held on March 28, beginning at 9 a.m. EDT. The event will be streamed via Facebook Live through the Aqua-Aid Facebook Page for worldwide viewing. Additionally, the event will be available for On Demand viewing via the Aqua-Aid Facebook Page and Aqua-Aid website. Viewers will have the opportunity to comment live and have questions answered by presenters.

Discussed at this year’s #PoaDay will be an array of pre and post-emergence herbicide programs for annual bluegrass control in turfgrass. Additionally, the event will provide education regarding the different herbicidal modes of action used for annual bluegrass control and how to optimize programs to mitigate problems associated with herbicide resistance.

“Our team here is excited to share our research on effectively managing annual bluegrass on golf courses, sports fields and lawns. We have over 55 different approaches to share that incorporate both chemical and mechanical techniques aimed at mitigating the onset of resistance in Poa,” said Dr. Jim Brosnan, associate professor in the Plant Sciences Department at the University of Tennessee (UT) and leader of UT’s new Weed Diagnostics Center.

“At our core, Aqua-Aid’s mission is to provide valuable solutions to the turfgrass industry. Supporting the University of Tennessee Turfgrass program to broadcast their annual #PoaDay live and bring these solutions to a worldwide audience made for a perfect partnership,” said Sam Green, COO AQUA-AID, Inc.
